Hello and welcome back to another episode of Quarantine Stories. My weekly series of original music I write just for you.

Legend has it that Ernest Hemingway was once challenged to write a story in only six words. His response? “For sale: baby shoes, never worn.”

Larry Smith (https://www.sixwordmemoirs.com/) gave the six-word novel a twist by asking his community to describe their lives in exactly six words. They sent in short droves of life stories. Funny, heartbreaking and poignant.

  • Cursed with cancer, blessed with friends
  • I still make coffee for two
  • From migrant worker to NASA astronaut
  • Married by Elvis, divorced by Friday

Last week, the NY Times asked folks to send six words describing what made them thankful in 2020. More than 10,000 replied. Here is a selection: https://www.nytimes.com/2020/11/26/briefing/coronavirus-vaccine-trump-pardon-diego-maradona.html

This week I made you movie! Well, not “made” so much as cut together scenes from that public domain scifi hit “War of the Planets”. Your mission, should you decide to accept it, is to watch the short vid, and tell the story in 6 WORDS.

Until next week. Wear a mask (seriously). Be kind to each other. Thank you for voting.
